Our Junior High Drop-In program takes place every Tuesday from 3-6pm. It is open to all students currently in Grades 6-8.
The youth centre is an ideal space for young teens to hang out with friends and have a great time, all in a safe and supervised environment. They can take advantage of our video game centre, play board games or cards together, play pool, ping pong, air hockey or foosball, do some arts and crafts, workout in our gym and weight room, or simply hang out and chat with their friends. We want the youth centre to become their space and to be a place where they feel safe and they can be themselves. Outside they can play any number of sports, from basketball and ball hockey to soccer and spike ball. We’ve got a great space to play pretty much anything.
Additionally, at some point during the program, a staff member or volunteer will facilitate a Ten-Minute Talk or “TMT” for short. During this time the teens, volunteers, and staff all get together and take part in a brief but meaningful discussion. The topics vary widely but they are always youth related and are designed to encourage the teens toward holistic health.
