We think we’ve got a pretty great space here at RE:SOUL Youth Centre … in fact, we know we do! Unfortunately, not everyone knows we’re here! So we did some brainstorming and the predominant thought was this: Instead of just having the teens come to us, why don’t we go to the teens? So an idea was born … and it was the beginning of what we now call our Mobile Youth Centre.
Though it has been put to use a few times already, our hope is to fully launch this initiative in the summer of 2021. That’s right – this coming summer!
Equipped with a rockin’ sound system, a BBQ to meet those hunger needs, spike ball and other fun games and activities, a television, along with a Wii U and Sony PlayStation, plus some amazing staff and volunteers, keep an eye out for us around your local skate parks and community centres.
* We also hope to be equipped very soon with some essential item backpacks to give out to teens who are struggling, couch-surfing, or simply demonstrate a genuine need.
