RE:SOUL YOUTH CENTRE
Today, we officially launch our annual Spring Fundraiser. As we contemplated our theme for the year, what resonated among us, or perhaps more accurately, what resonated within us, was a sense of urgency.
Though it is hidden to many (something we hope to remedy) there is a crisis amongst our young people today. Depression, anxiety, self-harm, substance abuse, eating disorders, suicidal ideation … does this list even rattle you orhave we as a society become numb to the state of our youth?
Today, I want you to know that we are rattled and we have been for some time. We also want to rattle you if you’re not already. As a community, we must work harder to better understand and support our youth. The need is real and we want to do more – we must do more and we can do more – with your help!
To those of you who already support our work at the youth centre – thank you! We invite your continued generosity and we are so grateful for it. To those of you who receive our emails and show genuine interest in supporting our work, we invite you to action and we invite you to give. And to everyone reading this email, we invite you to journey with us over the coming weeks and to share the content with family and friends. Help us rattle some others!
In the grand scheme of life today is just another day … unless we choose otherwise. Let’s make today count! Let’s invest today for the sake of tomorrow! Let’s open our eyes and see the very real needs of our youth! Let’s recognize that it is, in fact …
